The Scent

Cool and slightly metallic from the first spray, lavender and neroli lead the way together. Petitgrain adds a bitter citrus-bark edge that keeps things from smelling soft or powdery. The overall effect in the later hours is of clean, dry woods with a faint mossy hum. Oakmoss can read more or less prominent depending on the batch; older formulations carried a noticeably stronger mossy weight before IFRA restrictions trimmed it back over the decades. Current bottles are slightly drier and more restrained in that note, but the essential character holds.

Platinum Egoiste works best in cooler months, from autumn through early spring, in professional or semi-formal settings where a composed, understated fragrance fits the room.
