Description - Le Lion de Chanel
Refined warmth, dialled for the cold. Le Lion de Chanel EDP decant from ৳1,513 in Bangladesh, 3ml to 9ml. Notes of amber, labdanum and berga
Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel's astrological sign, Le Lion de Chanel is a bold amber-oriental Eau de Parfum from the Les Exclusifs de Chanel line, released in 2020. It carries unmistakable Chanel DNA but takes it somewhere darker and richer than most of the house's mainstream work. The composition is unisex in the truest sense: powerful enough to read as commanding on anyone, yet refined enough to avoid aggression. Aromatica carries the Le Lion de Chanel decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes, making this Les Exclusifs gem genuinely accessible.

The Scent
Citrus leads without being fresh or light. Bergamot and lemon cut through first, but they are not the breezy kind you find in aquatics or colognes. They have a slightly resinous edge from the outset, as if they are already anticipating what is coming beneath them. Within minutes, labdanum moves in, and this is where Le Lion declares itself. Labdanum is one of the most complex materials in perfumery, simultaneously leathery, smoky, animalic, and sweetly resinous, and Chanel uses it here at a concentration that makes it genuinely central rather than a background texture. The amber in the heart deepens this further, lending a golden warmth that broadens the composition from a focused resin into something more enveloping. The transition from the citrus top into the labdanum-amber heart is fast and decisive. It can read as abrupt or deeply satisfying depending on the wearer, because the two phases feel intentional rather than accidental. By the thirty-minute mark, patchouli and sandalwood begin threading through the amber, adding earthiness and woody depth without pulling it toward the mushroomy territory that can make patchouli difficult. The sandalwood stays creamy rather than dry, grounding the resinous core without hardening it. As the patchouli settles, it blends with the labdanum to create a subtle leathery-earth accord that gives the heart real texture and body. Into the dry-down, Madagascar vanilla softens everything considerably, rounding the labdanum and amber into a warmer, sweeter skin scent without tipping into gourmand territory. The vanilla does not read as sugary here; it acts more like a softening agent, pulling the darker materials into a unified warmth. Musk holds the whole composition close to skin in the later stages, making it feel intimate rather than broadcast. The labdanum can read as almost animalic in the early heart phase, which is part of the point for those who want their fragrances with genuine character. The overall arc moves from bright citrus opener to rich, smoky, leathery heart to a warm amber-vanilla base, wearing like something between a classic oriental and a modern niche amber.
When to Wear
Le Lion de Chanel suits cooler months, particularly autumn evenings and winter nights. It works well for formal dinners, gallery openings, or occasions where a fragrance is expected to say something about the person wearing it. Who Is It For
Made for the person who finds most designer fragrances too safe, wants something with genuine resin and leather running through it, and does not mind wearing a scent that commands attention rather than blending into the background.
If you enjoy Coromandel, another Les Exclusifs entry built around rich, dark oriental materials, it sits in the same family and is worth comparing side by side. Browse the full Chanel collection at Aromatica.
