Common Questions
Good to know
-
The Collector's Edition was a limited presentation of La Nuit de l'Homme rather than a new composition, so it shares the cardamom-lavender-cedar structure with the standard bottle. Because it was a limited run, everything still in circulation is dated stock, and the batch year identifies precisely what a decant was drawn from, which matters more here since its wearers track batches closely.
-
Close in structure, not identical in the base. The standard Batch 2012 finishes on vetiver and caraway over cedar, dry and slightly bitter. This edition lists amber alongside the caraway and vetiver, giving the dry-down a rounder, warmer landing while the cardamom opening stays the same. Expect the same first half hour and a softer, sweeter second half. See La Nuit de LHomme (Batch 2012).
-
In a sense, though it heads somewhere different. M7 leans on that same amber-vetiver foundation but pushes it toward a darker oud-and-musk direction instead of this fragrance's spiced lavender heart. If cardamom and lavender are the draw here, M7 replaces that entirely with resinous wood and musk, so treat it as a separate destination rather than a stronger version. See M7.
-
Not immediately for everyone. Caraway emerges as a surprise around the thirty-minute mark, reading as a rounder, earthier cousin of cardamom with a faintly anise-tinged depth, and the pairing can feel almost savoury against the sweet spice at first. On most skin the tension resolves within twenty minutes as cedar and lavender smooth it out, but that opening clash is worth expecting.
-
Because this edition was a limited run and the stock in circulation is aging, confirming how the cardamom opening and the amber-rounded caraway-vetiver base perform on your own skin matters more than usual before spending on a larger size. Sampling the 3ml to 9ml range settles that without committing to a full bottle of dated stock.
