Description - Boundless
Spice over amber, well-controlled. Amouage Boundless EDP decant from ৳1,471 in Bangladesh, 3ml to 9ml. Notes of benzoin, incense and myrrh.

Karine Vinchon Spehner built this one around vanilla and tobacco, then spent the rest of the composition making sure it never collapsed into a gourmand. Amouage released Boundless in 2021 as an eau de parfum, and community reaction split almost immediately between people who heard Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and people who heard something drier and more resinous. Both camps have a point. Aromatica carries the Boundless decant in Bangladesh across three sizes.

Fragrance Notes

Top: Cardamom, Blood Orange, Ginger, Elemi

Heart: Bourbon Vanilla, Benzoin

Base: Tobacco, Myrrh, Incense, Cacao, Guaiac Wood, Patchouli, Vetiver, Papyrus, Oakmoss

The Scent

The first minutes are sharper and more citrus-driven than the note list suggests. Blood orange arrives with cardamom and ginger pressing against it, and elemi adds a resinous, faintly piney edge that keeps the fruit from reading as sweet. That opening moves fast. Within ten minutes the dark material underneath starts pushing through, and reviewers consistently describe a smoky, slightly funky undertow well before the heart is supposed to arrive, which most attribute to the guaiac wood. Bourbon vanilla and benzoin then warm everything from below, and this is where the Tobacco Vanille comparisons start in earnest, because the pipe-tobacco-and-vanilla accord in the middle hours is unmistakably in that family. Amouage handles it differently though. The frankincense here is clean and transparent rather than smoky, and several reviewers single it out as the best thing in the composition, which tracks given the house sources its incense from Oman. Cacao appears in the dry-down as a dusty, unsweetened note rather than a chocolate one, and it cuts the vanilla in a way that keeps the base from turning syrupy. Opinion genuinely divides at the hour mark. Some wearers find the composition sweetens several notches and stays a spiced tobacco-vanilla for the rest of its life, while others report a much drier finish where myrrh, papyrus and oakmoss dominate and the sweetness reads as incidental. A few reviewers also flag a harsh ambery note in the base and consider it the weak point of an otherwise well-made fragrance. Worth knowing before you commit to a larger size. Longtime Amouage wearers also make the point that the house's compositions tend to settle and improve after a few months open, so a sample judged on day one may not be the same fragrance six months later.

When to Wear

This belongs to cold weather. It works for winter dinners, evening events and formal occasions where the room is warm and you want something that reads as expensive without shouting. Fall evenings suit it too, and you can browse the rest of the Tobacco collection if this direction appeals.

Who Is It For

Someone who already owns a tobacco vanilla and wants a version with more incense and less sugar in it, and who cares more about how the materials smell than whether the idea is original. It rewards patience, so this is not the fragrance to judge on a first sniff at a counter.

If you enjoy Amouage's darker tobacco work, Opus XIV Royal Tobacco sits in the same territory and is worth comparing side by side. Browse the full Amouage collection at Aromatica.

Available as an authentic decant in Bangladesh at Aromatica in 3ml, 5ml, and 9ml.
