Is Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato more gourmand or floral?

It is a floral-fruity gourmand, sweeter than it is floral. The top is pure dessert, pistachio gelato, hazelnut, rum and cardamom over bergamot, and the base piles on whipped cream, marshmallow, cotton candy, loukhoum, tonka and cacao. Between them sits a genuinely floral heart of lily-of-the-valley, jasmine, peony and geranium with pear and raspberry, which stops it reading as flat candy. This 2023 Eau de Parfum Intense was created by father-son perfumers Olivier Cresp and Sebastien Cresp, and it is distinct from the later Body Spray version.

Does Yum Pistachio Gelato wear feminine on men?

It skews a little sweet and floral, so some men find it leans feminine, while others wear it happily as a cosy dessert scent. The pistachio, cream and cacao keep it grounded rather than girlish, and it works well layered or applied lightly. If you already enjoy gourmands, it sits comfortably regardless of the marketing.

Is the decant the same as the Yum Pistachio Gelato body spray?

No. Kayali later added an all-over body spray in the same scent family, but it is a lighter, different-format product. The decant here is the Eau de Parfum Intense, the richer, more concentrated version created by Olivier Cresp and Sebastien Cresp. Olivier Cresp built his legacy pioneering the gourmand genre with Mugler Angel back in 1992, and this collaboration brings that same ambition to a pistachio-centred composition that reads as genuinely playful rather than generic sweet. The Scent

Roasted pistachio lands first and immediately, not as a vague nuttiness but as something that genuinely resembles the inside of a gelateria. Hazelnut and a whisper of rum push it toward praline territory in the first few minutes, while bergamot keeps everything from collapsing into pure sweetness. Cardamom adds a faint spiced edge that prevents the opening from reading like a dessert sauce. The bergamot in particular is worth noting: it stays active longer than expected, threading a bright citrus thread through the praline warmth and delaying the composition's full pivot into sweetness. Around the ten-minute mark, the composition shifts noticeably. A set of florals, including lily-of-the-valley, jasmine, peony, and geranium, surfaces alongside white peach and raspberry. The floral middle can feel completely unexpected, as if the fragrance pivots away from its gelato premise, or it can read as a freshness that stops the whole thing from being cloying, depending on skin. A light pear note threads through this stage as well, softening the transition between the nutty opening and the floral heart without demanding much attention on its own. The fruit notes, particularly the peach and raspberry, do help sell the "fruit gelato" angle rather than a strictly pistachio reading. As the pear and peach settle, they draw the floral notes slightly warmer, creating a brief moment where the heart smells genuinely like a fruit-topped pastry before the base begins its pull. By the 30-minute mark, the florals soften considerably and the base begins pulling focus.
