Rose Oud belongs to Kilian's Arabian Nights chapter, composed by Calice Becker in 2010, and this is the original formula drawn from a 2015 batch. It is a smoky, sweet rose built on Bulgarian rose oil, saffron and a woody oud accord, with a lychee note that softens the edges. The Scent
It opens with a bright Bulgarian rose lit by saffron and a touch of cinnamon, spicy and a little leathery from the first spray. The rose here is rich and full rather than fresh and green, the kind that reads like aged red wine to some wearers. A sweet lychee accord weaves through the heart, lending a soft fruity glow that keeps the rose from turning austere. As it settles, the woods take over, a smoky oud and guaiac that add a dry, slightly medicinal depth. Cypriol brings an earthy, almost smoky-incense facet, while cedar gives the base its structure.
