Common Questions
Good to know
-
Opinions split on this. Calice Becker builds it around coffee and cardamom, and some wearers get a vivid Turkish-coffee effect while others find the cardamom, spice and sweetness take over instead. It is genuinely a coffee gourmand, but how much coffee you get can vary from person to person.
-
Both at once, genuinely. A coffee-and-cardamom top sits over nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and tobacco, with a caramel, mocha and vanilla base underneath, so it lands as a spicy gourmand rather than a purely sweet dessert scent. The Intoxicated (Batch 2015) carries the exact same composition and balance.
-
They sit at opposite ends of the Kilian range. Intoxicated builds a spiced coffee gourmand from cardamom, nutmeg, tobacco and a caramel-mocha-vanilla base, while Pearl Oud takes a rose, iris and agarwood route with a castoreum base, dark and animalic rather than sweet. See Pearl Oud.
-
It opens roasted and slightly smoky rather than sweet, coffee and cardamom first, with the sugar-forward caramel, mocha and marshmallow base only building in later. Tobacco and geranium in the heart add a green, leafy counterweight, so it reads as a spiced gourmand with structure rather than a straightforward candy or bakery scent.
-
Rich, sugared bases like caramel and marshmallow tend to sit denser in humid warmth, so expect that gourmand drydown to build faster and read sweeter in Dhaka's climate than in cooler air. The coffee and cardamom opening still cuts through early on, but the balance likely tips toward the dessert side sooner than in a drier, colder setting.
