It is sueded rather than raw, closer to a worn jacket than a tannery, and it carries the iris's powderiness with it as the fragrance moves into its second phase. Some wearers catch a faint floral undertone here, almost violet-adjacent, before it fades back into the leather. On the drydown, cedar and sandalwood arrive together, and the wood is where Obsidian stops being clean and starts being heavy. Ambrette adds a musky, slightly skin-like warmth that keeps the woods from turning dry or splintery.
