Description - Azul
Mediterranean brightness, modern build. Rayhaan Azul EDP from ৳479, authentic decants in Bangladesh. Notes of lemon, bergamot and sandalwood
Rayhaan built Azul around a simple idea: citrus over water, kept clean and bright rather than sweet. Released in 2026 as an Eau de Parfum, it belongs to the aromatic aquatic family, the kind of scent that reads as fresh from the first spray and never tips into heavy territory. Aromatica carries the Rayhaan Azul decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes, so you can get a feel for it before deciding how deep to go. It sits comfortably next to the brand's other water-driven releases but keeps its own identity through a sharper citrus opening and a calmer, more mineral finish.
Fragrance Notes
Top: Lemon, Bergamot
Heart: Grapefruit blossom
Base: Sandalwood, Calone
The Scent
The first thing the nose registers is lemon, sharp and slightly green, with bergamot trailing right behind it to soften the edges. There is no fruit-candy sweetness here, the citrus stays tart and a little rind-like for the first twenty minutes. Grapefruit blossom moves in as the top notes settle, and this is where Azul finds its personality: it is more floral-citrus than straight fruit, with a faint bitterness that keeps things from feeling soapy. Around the one-hour mark the transition into the base becomes noticeable. Calone brings that unmistakable ozonic, salt-air quality, the note that gives the fragrance its aquatic backbone and makes it feel like it was built around water rather than fruit. Sandalwood arrives underneath, quiet and creamy, giving the drydown weight without turning it woody in a heavy sense. What is interesting is how the balance shifts from person to person: on some skin the calone stays forward for hours, reading almost briny, while on others the sandalwood takes over faster and the whole thing softens into something closer to a clean skin scent. Both readings are legitimate expressions of the same structure, and neither is wrong. By the time the drydown fully settles, the lemon and grapefruit blossom have faded to a whisper, leaving mostly sandalwood with a cool, salted edge from the calone. It never gets loud at any stage, the whole arc is built on restraint rather than a big statement.
When to Wear
This is a warm-weather fragrance first, suited to daytime wear in humid climates where anything heavier would feel like too much. Think office hours in Dhaka summer, a walk along the water, or a casual weekend lunch rather than an evening event. Anyone assembling a rotation for the hot months should look at the Rayhaan collection for more of this same clean, aquatic register.
Who Is It For
Someone who reaches for a plain white shirt over a printed one, who wants to smell clean without smelling like cologne, and who finds heavy oud or gourmand scents exhausting by midday.
