Description - Dark Leather
Crisp aromatics over warm woods. Genuine Rayhaan Dark Leather EDP decant from ৳453 in Bangladesh. Notes of clary sage, juniper and birch.
Rayhaan built its Leather Collection around scents that don't apologize for being heavy, and Dark Leather, released in 2023, is the darkest entry in that line. It reads like something worn by a man who spends more time outdoors than in an office: dense, smoky, a little feral. Aromatica carries the Rayhaan Dark Leather decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes, so you can size it to how often you'd actually reach for something this intense. The concentration is an eau de parfum, built to sit close to the skin and hold its shape for hours without turning sweet or vague.
Fragrance Notes
Top: Clary Sage, Pink Pepper, Juniper
Heart: Orris, Mate
Base: Birch, Tonka, Amber, Leather
The Scent
Juniper hits first, sharp and a little green, like crushed pine needles underfoot. Clary Sage follows almost immediately, herbal and slightly bitter, cutting through any sweetness before it has a chance to form. Pink pepper adds a dry, prickling heat that keeps the opening from feeling soft. Within twenty minutes the top notes start to fade and orris steps forward, powdery and cool, giving the composition a suede-like texture that softens the initial sharpness. Mate joins around the same time, bringing a bitter, almost smoky green tone that reads more like tobacco leaf than tea. This is where the fragrance splits opinion a little: some skin chemistry pushes the mate into a roasted, coffee-adjacent direction, while on others it stays closer to dried herb. Both readings work, and neither cancels out the leather that's building underneath. By the second hour, birch resin and leather take over fully, dark and slightly tarry, with tonka rounding the edges so it never turns acrid. Amber arrives last, warm and resinous, wrapping the leather in something closer to skin than pavement. The dry-down is where Dark Leather earns its name: birch and leather locked together, tonka giving it enough sweetness to stay wearable, orris lingering faintly underneath like a memory of the opening. Nothing about the finish is loud. It's low, warm, and stays remarkably linear once it settles, which is part of what makes it easy to layer under a coat without it fighting for attention.
When to Wear
This belongs to late autumn and winter, worn under a wool coat on a cold evening rather than dabbed on before a beach trip. Think a dinner in an old building with exposed brick, a whiskey bar, or a walk through a city after dark when the air has some bite to it. It fits comfortably alongside pieces from the Leather and Suede collection for anyone building a cold-weather rotation.
Who Is It For
Someone who reaches for a worn leather jacket over a clean blazer and doesn't mind a fragrance that announces itself a little. It suits a person who finds most amber-vanilla releases too sweet and wants something with more grit in the base.
If you gravitate toward Corium, the two share that same dense, skin-close leather core, and Obsidian is worth a sniff too if you want the darker, smokier end of what Rayhaan does. Browse the full Rayhaan collection at Aromatica.
