Description - Costa Azzurra
Polished woods with a herbal lift. Tom Ford Costa Azzurra EDP decant from ৳874, shipped across Bangladesh. Notes of lavender, vetiver and ar

Somewhere between a rocky Mediterranean coastline and a pine-shaded terrace, Tom Ford Costa Azzurra Eau de Parfum exists as a precise, uncompromising idea of what sea air actually smells like. Originally introduced in 2014 as part of Tom Ford's Private Blend collection, it was relaunched in 2021 under the Signature Collection, making its character available to a broader audience without softening any of its edges. Aromatica carries the Tom Ford Costa Azzurra decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes, so you can experience the full arc of this fragrance before settling on a size that suits you.

Fragrance Notes

Top: Driftwood, Seaweed, Agarwood (Oud), Ambrette (Musk Mallow), Cardamom, Celery Seeds

Heart: Lemon, Cypress, Yellow Mandarin, Lavender, Myrtle, Artemisia

Base: Oak, Incense, Vetiver, Olibanum, Mastic, Vanilla

The Scent

Unusual for an aquatic, Costa Azzurra does not open with the clean, soapy splash of most marine fragrances. Instead it leads with driftwood and seaweed alongside cardamom and a faint celery-seed greenness, creating something that reads more like wet rocks and salt spray than a beach cologne. The oud note in the top is subtle, barely registered on most skin, but it adds a slight resinous density that keeps the opening from feeling thin. Those saline and mineral impressions do not linger in isolation: the cardamom warms gradually underneath them, nudging the composition toward a dry, spiced coastal character rather than a cold ozonic one. Within the first ten to fifteen minutes, that opening yields ground to the heart, where cypress and lemon take over as the dominant voices. The cypress is the real spine of this fragrance. It is cool, piney, and dry, calling to mind Mediterranean hillsides rather than colognes that merely gesture at the coast. Lemon and yellow mandarin run alongside it, keeping the composition bright without tipping into sweetness. The transition from top to heart is seamless: the seaweed character does not vanish so much as it retreats behind the cypress, lending the aromatic middle a faint marine shadow. Lavender and myrtle soften the aromatic herbs enough to prevent the heart from turning astringent. Artemisia adds a slightly bitter, wormwood-like edge that can read bracing or deeply interesting depending on skin chemistry. In the dry-down, the woody base of oak, vetiver, and incense rises slowly, with olibanum and mastic lending a low smoky-resinous quality. The vanilla appears only as the softest whisper, rounding the base rather than sweetening it. As the drier materials surface, the composition gains a new coherence: what opened as a coastal sketch resolves into something more architectural and grounded. A note worth flagging: the driftwood accord in Costa Azzurra is a constructed blend of vetiver, oak, and seaweed rather than a literal driftwood material, which explains why the scent gains depth as the base notes emerge and those same materials reassert themselves from underneath. The natural comparison is Acqua di Gio Parfum by Giorgio Armani, and it is a fair reference point: both are aromatic woody aquatics with serious construction, though Costa Azzurra leans more resinous and less minerally aquatic.

When to Wear

Costa Azzurra reads best in spring and summer, particularly in warm outdoor settings, daytime occasions, and casual professional environments where something polished but understated is appropriate. It carries well into early autumn without feeling out of place, especially in warmer climates. Browse the Aquatic and Ozonic collection at Aromatica for context on where this sits within the family.

Who Is It For

Someone who appreciates clean structure and aromatic depth rather than loud sweetness or conspicuous presence will find Costa Azzurra a natural fit, particularly if a woody aquatic that rewards attention rather than announcing itself is what they are after. It wears equally well on any gender.

If you enjoy Neroli Portofino, Tom Ford's other coastal Mediterranean expression, Costa Azzurra is a natural companion with more aromatic weight and less citrus brightness. Browse the full Tom Ford collection at Aromatica.
