Description - Tabarome Millesime
Aromatic and refined, built for routine. Genuine Creed Tabarome Millesime EDP decant from ৳1,513 in Bangladesh. Notes of vetiver, sandalwood

House lore ties this to Winston Churchill, and whether or not you believe the Creed family stories, the fragrance itself smells like the club room they describe. Creed released Tabarome Millesime in 2000 as an eau de parfum, a modern re-orchestration of an original Tabarome from 1970. It is one of the least fashionable things the house sells and one of the more interesting. Aromatica lists the Tabarome Millesime decant in Bangladesh in three sizes.

Fragrance Notes

Top: Ginger, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange, Green Tea

Heart: Jasmine, Violet

Base: Tobacco, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Patchouli, Ambergris

The Scent

Ginger leads, and it is the sharp culinary kind rather than a warm spiced one, cut with bergamot and mandarin into something bright and slightly zingy. The tobacco is not what most people expect. It is green and wet, the smell of a fresh leaf rather than a cigar or an ashtray, and several reviewers point out that the ginger is doing a lot of the work in creating that impression. Green tea sits alongside the citrus and adds a dry, tannic quality to the first half hour. What happens next divides people more than almost any other Creed. One group describes a warm, sensual, old-fashioned scent, sweet jasmine darkened with tobacco and ginger, the kind of thing that suggests a fireplace and a glass of cognac. Another group reports that the heart notes barely register at all and that what they get is an old-timey soapy masculine of citrus, white florals and oakmoss with a trace of tobacco somewhere behind it. Both descriptions appear repeatedly across Basenotes and Parfumo, which suggests genuine skin variation rather than one camp being wrong. The base is where the house ambergris takes over, and it is soft and warm rather than dark, with sandalwood and vetiver giving it a dry finish. Several reviewers describe wearing two fragrances at once, one zingy and fresh, one smoky and woody, and say the two never fully blend. Common comparisons run towards Hermes Equipage and A*Men Pure Havane, both of which are named as more approachable takes on the same idea. There is also a recurring note in reviews about value, with several people who like the scent saying plainly that they would like it more at a lower price. That is a common Creed complaint, but it comes up more often here than elsewhere because Tabarome is quieter than its stablemates and asks the same money.

When to Wear

Cold months and indoor settings. Formal evenings, business dinners and offices where a classical masculine reads as appropriate rather than dated. The spicy warmth works against it in heat. More in the Formal collection.

Who Is It For

Someone who already likes mid-century masculines and wants a tobacco that behaves like a green leaf rather than a dessert.

If Tabarome appeals, Bois du Portugal occupies the same classical corner of the Creed catalogue and is the more famous of the two. Browse the full Creed collection at Aromatica.

Available as an authentic decant in Bangladesh at Aromatica in 3ml, 5ml, and 9ml.
