Description - Acqua Fiorentina
Aromatic and refined, built for routine. Creed Acqua Fiorentina EDP decant from ৳1,428 in Bangladesh, 3ml to 9ml. Notes of sandalwood and vi
Fifteenth-century Florence was the brief, and the bottle is pink glass, which sets up an expectation the juice inside cheerfully ignores. Creed released Acqua Fiorentina in 2009 as an eau de parfum and marketed it as a fruity floral for women. What most people actually smell is plum and cedar, and the gap between the packaging and the contents is the first thing reviewers mention. Aromatica offers the Acqua Fiorentina decant in Bangladesh in three sizes.
Fragrance Notes
Top: Greengage Plum, Apple
Heart: Rose, White Carnation, Bergamot, Calabrian Lemon
Base: Virginia Cedar, Sandalwood, White Grapefruit
The Scent
The top and heart collapse into each other almost immediately, which is unusual and gives the fragrance its character. Tart lemon and juicy greengage plum arrive together and read as a single fresh-fruit accord rather than a sequence, with a touch of apple adding crispness at the edges. Underneath that, from the first minute, sits a pale dry wood. There is no waiting for the base here. Reviewers on both Fragrantica and Basenotes repeatedly say the same thing about the florals: they are on the note list and they are difficult to find on skin. The rose is light and neither rich nor heavy, and the carnation is fainter still, appearing as a whisper in the dry-down if it appears at all. As the fruit fades, cedar takes over completely and the fragrance becomes a woody scent with a fruity memory attached. Several people describe the opening as sitting somewhere between Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue and Lanvin Eclat d'Arpege, which is a fair placement, though Acqua Fiorentina is drier than either. One Fragrantica reviewer has written at length about a burnt or crusted quality in the first minutes, something disjointed and slightly off before the composition settles, and it is a detail worth listening for because once you notice it you cannot stop. The overall structure is simple and stays simple. Opinion divides on whether that simplicity is elegance or a lack of ideas at a Creed price. What almost nobody disputes is the quality of the materials, and even reviewers who find the composition thin describe the citrus as unusually natural. Several men have also noted they wear it without hesitation despite the feminine marketing, which the plum and cedar structure supports. Longevity reports cluster around the six to eight hour mark with moderate presence, which is respectable for something this light, and the fruit-to-wood transition happens early enough that most of that time is spent in the cedar phase rather than the opening.
When to Wear
Warm daylight. Spring and summer daytime, brunches, offices and warm evenings where you want something light rather than sweet. It loses its point in cold weather. The Fruity collection holds more in this direction.
Who Is It For
Someone who reaches for fruity fragrances but dislikes how sugary most of them get, and who would rather the wood showed through.
If you like the plum-and-wood idea, Virgin Island Water is the other Creed that leans fruity and makes a useful contrast. Browse the full Creed collection at Aromatica.
