-
Two mango fragrances aimed at very different moods. Amber Oud Future Dubai puts mango and plum over a resinous styrax heart with patchouli and moss underneath, so it goes warm and dense. Opulent Dubai keeps the mango bright by cutting it with grapefruit, lemon and ginger, then runs jasmine and cedarwood through the middle over ambergris, benzoin and oakmoss. Future Dubai is the evening one; this is the one you can wear at noon.
-
Less than you would expect, because of what is sitting next to it. Grapefruit, lemon and ginger are all dry, sharp notes and they keep working on warm skin, holding the mango on the ripe side of syrupy for most of the wear. What changes is the base: benzoin warms and the ambergris rounds out, so the finish is softer at four in the afternoon than at nine in the morning. Oakmoss keeps a bitter thread through it all.
-
For the first stretch, yes, since mango, grapefruit, lemon and ginger dominate the opening loudly. But oakmoss and benzoin in the base pull it into genuinely earthy, resinous territory by the dry-down, giving it more structure than a simple fruity-floral. Fans of transparent fruit sprays may find the base heavier than expected; fans of oriental depth will find the fruit a fun way in.
-
Opulent Dubai, thanks to its ripe mango-and-ginger opening. Yara works from orchid, heliotrope and tangerine into a soft gourmand base, staying creamy rather than fruit-forward. Opulent Dubai leads with citrus and mango before settling into jasmine, cedarwood, ambergris and oakmoss, giving it a more citrus-led, less gourmand character overall.
-
The mango, grapefruit and ginger opening captures God of Fire's juicy citrus character convincingly, so the first stage of the wear reads very familiar. The two part ways in the base, though: Opulent Dubai leaves out God of Fire's oud entirely, settling into jasmine, cedarwood and oakmoss instead for a lighter, more purely fruity-floral result. Try a decant to hear how much that missing oud changes the overall mood.
