About our decants

At Aromatica, we hand-decant authentic perfumes from original full-size bottles into smaller atomizers. This lets you experience the full dry-down on your skin before committing to a full bottle, or own and wear several signature scents at a fraction of the cost.

3ml, 5ml, 9ml, and 15ml decant sizes

Please note: bottle visuals shown above may vary slightly from the current bottles in use; the volumes remain the same. Decants are produced manually in a sterilized environment and shipped with a spray atomizer.

Description

About this fragrance

Invictus Victory Absolu is Rabanne's 2025 parfum intense in the Invictus Victory branch, composed by Anne Flipo and Caroline Dumur. Fresh black pepper opens onto warm amber and salty ambergris, then frankincense and patchouli dry it down over sandalwood. It is the woodier, less sugary member of the Victory family.

Common Questions

Good to know

  • Invictus Victory Elixir pairs lavender, cardamom and black pepper with incense, then vanilla pod and tonka. Absolu keeps the pepper and incense but drops vanilla and tonka for amber, ambergris and sandalwood. Reviewers on Fragrantica note the resemblance but find Absolu less sweet.
  • Most retail listings sell it as a parfum intense, though at least one labels it eau de parfum. Fragrantica and Parfumo state no concentration, so parfum intense is the best supported label, and it fits the dense amber build.
  • Amber and ambergris swell in warm, humid air, so the pepper opening disappears faster than on a cool night. The incense and sandalwood keep it dry rather than sticky, but a single spray is enough before a warm evening.

The Scent

Black pepper is the only listed top note, and it is crisp and slightly peppery-fresh rather than hot. It clears quickly to show what sits underneath.

The heart is amber and ambergris with dry woods. The amber is warm and resinous, and ambergris gives a salty, mineral glow that keeps it from becoming syrupy.

Frankincense, patchouli and sandalwood carry the finish. The incense adds a soft smoke, patchouli an earthy depth, and sandalwood a creamy base. There is no vanilla or tonka in the listed pyramid, which is the key break from the sweeter Victory releases.

It helps to know the family. Invictus Victory Elixir, from 2023, built the branch on sweetness, layering vanilla pod and tonka bean under lavender, cardamom and incense. Absolu keeps the black pepper and incense thread but takes the sugar out, replacing it with amber and ambergris. The result is warmer than it is sweet.

Ambergris is the material to pay attention to. It gives a salty, skin-like warmth that sits between the amber and the woods, and it is what keeps the dry-down from feeling flat. Frankincense adds height above the base, a clean resin smoke rather than a heavy church incense. Patchouli stays in the background, more earth than chocolate.

When to Wear

A cold-weather, evening fragrance. The amber and incense are dense, and this is at its best on winter nights, at formal events and late dinners. In daytime heat it can feel too much, so keep it for after dark and for air-conditioned rooms. Two sprays are plenty, because the amber is dense enough not to need more. At formal events the pepper opening gives a crisp first impression before the amber settles in, which suits a jacket and an air-conditioned venue.

Who Is It For

Men who liked the Invictus Victory direction but found it too sweet, and anyone who wants an amber-incense scent with a fresh pepper start. It suits a collector looking for the drier corner of the Invictus family. Anyone after the bright aquatic Invictus character will find this a different fragrance altogether. It is also a sensible second option for someone who owns Victory Elixir and wants a drier scent rather than a near-duplicate, since the two share a backbone but not a finish. Those who find incense heavy will find it lighter-handed here than expected.

The sweeter branch of the family is Invictus Victory Elixir, and the line began with Invictus. More from the house is in our Paco Rabanne collection, and other dry amber-woods sit in Woody.

Invictus Victory Absolu decants come in 3ml, 5ml, 9ml and 15ml.
