Common Questions
Good to know
-
Agarwood appears only in the base, alongside amber, benzoin, vanilla, labdanum and tonka bean, and it plays a background role rather than leading. Plum and grapefruit open the scent, with heliotrope and orchid giving a powdery floral middle, so despite the name this reads as a sweet amber gourmand with a trace of oud rather than an oud-forward composition.
-
Both sit in Lattafa's sweet, spiced-amber territory, but Khamrah leans on cinnamon, dates and incense for its warmth, while Eternal Oud builds its sweetness from plum, heliotrope, orchid and a vanilla-tonka-labdanum base. They occupy the same general Lattafa gourmand-oriental family without sharing the same specific note structure. See Khamrah.
-
Heliotrope and orchid in the heart give it a genuine powdery quality that sits alongside the vanilla-tonka sweetness in the base, so the two qualities blend rather than one dominating. Skin chemistry decides which comes through more, meaning it can read as either soft and powdery or warm and gourmand depending on the wearer.
-
Eternal Oud delivers a genuinely rich amber-vanilla profile at Lattafa's price tier, but how much heliotrope powder versus vanilla sweetness comes through varies by skin, and a fragrance this concentrated in sweetness will not suit every wearer's daily rotation. A decant settles that question before you decide how much of it you actually want.
-
The amber, benzoin and vanilla-tonka base captures Grand Soir's warm signature closely enough that the two are easy to place side by side. The opening is where it splits off: a plum note gives Eternal Oud a sweeter, fruitier start that Grand Soir does not have, and despite the name, actual oud plays a much smaller role here than the base alone would suggest. A decant lets you compare both openings directly before buying more.
-
Eternal Oud opens on jammy, boozy plum cut by a flash of grapefruit, sinking into powdery heliotrope and waxy orchid before benzoin, labdanum, tonka and a low, dry agarwood settle into the base. Lattafa Eternal Vanille drops the oud entirely for a cocoa-vanilla-caviar gourmand over akigalawood and ambrofix, sweeter and more dessert-like than this warmer, woodier original.
