Description - Devotion
Edible warmth, properly composed. D&G Devotion EDP decant from ৳534 in Bangladesh, sizes 3ml to 15ml. Notes of vanilla and rum.
Italian desserts have inspired many fragrances, but few have committed as fully as Dolce&Gabbana Devotion Eau de Parfum, released in 2023 and built around the flavours of panettone. Perfumer Olivier Cresp translated that Milanese holiday bread into something genuinely wearable: citrus-bright on the surface, warmly creamy at the core. It is feminine without being girlish, and sweet without being cloying. Aromatica carries the Dolce&Gabbana Devotion decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes.

The Scent
Candied lemon leads the way, landing with more sweetness than sharpness. Think lemon drizzle rather than fresh zest. There is a candied, almost crystallised quality to it, the kind of citrus that belongs on a pastry counter rather than in a fruit bowl. It reads bright and uplifting, but the sugar is already visible from the first spray. Within the first few minutes, the panacotta note starts pulling the fragrance inward, adding a soft, milky creaminess that rounds out the lemon rather than competing with it. That creaminess is not heavy or dense. It has a delicate, almost mousse-like texture, the kind that sits on top of the skin rather than sinking deep into it. Orange blossom appears as a quiet floral thread, giving the heart enough of a white flower lift to stop it reading as purely a food scent. It never takes over, but its presence keeps the composition from collapsing entirely into dessert territory. The rum note is subtle but important. It does not smell boozy in any obvious way. Instead, it contributes a warm, slightly fermented depth that is unmistakably reminiscent of a well-soaked panettone. On skin, this middle stage carries a limoncello-like quality where the lemon and the rum briefly overlap in a way that feels more like a cocktail than a cake. The lemon can read dominant throughout the entire wear on some skin, while on others the creaminess takes over quickly once the opening fades. Skin chemistry matters here, and the fragrance can read quite differently on two people wearing it at the same time. The candied lemon and the panacotta exchange influence across the heart, with the citrus lending its brightness to the cream and the cream softening the lemon's sharper edges into something closer to a glaze. As that interplay settles, the orange blossom adds a subtle lift that prevents the composition from reading as flat or one-dimensional. The rum, meanwhile, works quietly underneath, threading a warm, slightly fermented note through the sweetness that grounds the whole accord and keeps it from floating away into pure confection. The transition from heart to dry-down is gradual and unhurried. As the rum and orange blossom recede, the panacotta softens further and begins to merge with the base. The dry-down is where Devotion settles into its most comfortable register: a soft, warm vanilla that retains a memory of lemon and cream without announcing either too loudly. It is not a bold, resinous vanilla, but rather a light, airy one that sits close to the skin and wears like a second layer rather than a statement. The overall effect is that of a well-made gourmand fragrance with genuine restraint, one that reads sweet without ever becoming suffocating.
When to Wear
Devotion is at its best in autumn and winter, when its warm, creamy sweetness feels natural rather than heavy. It works well for daytime outings, weekend brunches, or evening occasions where something approachable and feminine is the right call. Who Is It For
Drawn to sweet, creamy fragrances but wanting enough citrus brightness and structural elegance to avoid smelling like dessert straight from the fridge, a wearer of Devotion finds exactly that balance here. It is the kind of fragrance chosen by someone who already loves Kayali Vanilla 28 or similar skin-close gourmands and wants a more polished, designer-house version.
If you want to explore the same DNA pushed further, Devotion Intense deepens the vanilla and richness considerably and is worth comparing side by side. Browse the full Dolce&Gabbana collection at Aromatica.
