The 2025 Parfum, signed by Jean-Christophe Hérault, is the concentrated reading of that idea, sweeter and spicier than the older versions and aimed squarely at cold evenings. It holds the warm, familiar backbone but pushes the spice and resin higher. The Scent
The opening is sweet and spicy at once, a juicy blood-orange note lifted by nutmeg and a knock of black pepper. It is brighter than you might expect from a parfum, though the citrus reads warm rather than fresh. Within minutes the spice settles into the resinous heart, where labdanum brings a sticky, ambery sweetness and patchouli adds an earthy edge. Clary sage runs through the middle with a soft aromatic lift that keeps the sweetness in check. The base is the part regular wearers will recognise instantly, the amber and tobacco accord that defines The One, here richer and more rounded. A dry vetiver in the dry-down stops the warmth from turning syrupy. Compared to the older eau de parfum, this one is spicier, sweeter and more evening-leaning, trading some of the citrus freshness for depth. It sits closer to the skin than a loud designer release and rewards cool weather. Several wearers note it as the most sophisticated take on the line so far, even if it gives up some daytime versatility to get there. Next to the 2015 eau de parfum, the differences are clear within minutes, since this one is darker, the pepper sharper and the sweetness more pronounced. The patchouli adds an earthy grip the lighter versions never had, which keeps the amber from feeling one-note. Clary sage is the quiet hero, lacing the heart with a herbal coolness that balances the sugar. The tobacco in the base is smoother here, more pipe than ashtray, and it lingers into the late dry-down. On colder days the amber and tobacco bloom and the whole thing feels enveloping, comforting and a little dressed-up at the same time.
