Description - AQVA Pour Homme
Quiet woods, neither sharp nor dull. Bvlgari AQVA Pour Homme EDP from ৳598, authentic decants in Bangladesh. Notes of lavender, cedar and sa

Few aquatic fragrances have held the ground as long as Bvlgari AQVA Pour Homme, the Eau de Toilette that launched in 2005 and built an entire flanker family in its wake. Jacques Cavallier Belletrud composed it with a brief that leans into salt and darkness rather than the sun-soaked sweetness most marine scents reach for. Aromatica carries the Bvlgari AQVA Pour Homme decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes, so you can wear a proper stretch of it before deciding.

Fragrance Notes

Top: Mandarin Orange, Orange, Petitgrain

Heart: Seaweed, Lavender, Cotton Flower

Base: Virginia Cedar, Woodsy Notes, Patchouli, Clary Sage, Amber

The Scent

Citrus-forward but not candy-bright, the opening lands with mandarin and orange carrying a slightly bitter edge from the petitgrain, keeping things sharp and deliberate rather than cheerful. Within a few minutes the citrus starts to pull back, and the seaweed note moves in with real authority. This is where AQVA diverges from the genre. The seaweed here reads as salty and slightly animalic, more like the smell of a rocky shoreline than a swimming pool, and that quality divides wearers sharply. It can read fascinating and raw on one skin, or strange on first encounter and then oddly compelling on a second wearing. Lavender threads through the heart, adding a clean aromatic structure that keeps the seaweed from going fully feral. Cotton flower is subtle, lending a soft textile quality that smooths the transition and prevents the heart from feeling too harsh or briny.

The handoff from the citrus top to the seaweed heart is faster than you might expect, and once the petitgrain recedes fully, the composition takes on a quieter, more mineral character. That mineral quality is worth pausing on: the seaweed and lavender together create a cool, almost tidal stillness, the kind of stillness you sense standing on wet rocks rather than drifting in open water. The lavender never reads as floral here; it acts more like a structural brace, holding the saltier elements in check without softening them into something approachable and safe. Cotton flower contributes enough diffuse softness to keep the heart wearable as the composition deepens.

As the fragrance settles into the dry-down, the base reveals a cedar and patchouli combination that is woodier and drier than expected from an aquatic. The patchouli is restrained, not the heavy resinous kind, more of a quiet earthiness that anchors the whole composition. Virginia cedar contributes a clean, slightly pencil-shaving dryness that lifts the base and stops it from going muddy. Clary sage adds a cool, slightly herbal note that bridges the marine heart and the dry base without jarring. Amber rounds the finish with a gentle warmth, and the overall dry-down is notably darker and more grounded than what the citrus opening suggests. Compared to Acqua di Gio, AQVA is saltier, less sweet, and considerably less mainstream in character, smelling of raw ocean, dirty yet charming.

When to Wear

AQVA Pour Homme works best from late spring through early autumn, particularly for daytime outings near the water, outdoor weekend plans, or casual settings where a fresh but slightly edgy scent reads as intentional rather than safe. It handles warm, humid weather well, which makes it a practical choice during the hottest months of the year.

Who Is It For

Someone who wants an aquatic that does not smell like every other aquatic will find a natural home here, specifically the person who finds mainstream marine fragrances too sweet or too generic but still wants something undeniably fresh and wearable.

If you enjoy Acqua Di Gio Profondo, AQVA Pour Homme sits in the same broad family but with a saltier, more mineral edge worth exploring side by side. Browse the full Bvlgari collection at Aromatica.
