Description - Wood Essence
Sharp herbs, warm woods, polished base. Genuine Bvlgari Wood Essence EDP decant from ৳512 in Bangladesh. Notes of vetiver, cedar and cypress

Built around a single tension between urban life and raw nature, Bvlgari Man Wood Essence is a 2018 Eau de Parfum from the Italian jewellery house, created by perfumer Alberto Morillas. Rather than choosing one world over the other, Morillas layered citrus brightness over deep, resinous woods. The result is a masculine fragrance that feels simultaneously polished and grounded, the kind of scent that works in a boardroom but carries the memory of a forest floor. Aromatica carries the Bvlgari Wood Essence decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes.

Fragrance Notes

Top: Citruses with sugar, Lemon Zest, Coriander Leaf

Heart: Cypress, Cedar, Vetiver

Base: Benzoin

The Scent

Bright and slightly candied, the opening registers first as lemon zest and sugared citrus, clean but with a softness that keeps them from feeling sharp or generic. The coriander leaf sits beneath that, adding a faint green, almost soapy facet that gives the opening a herbal edge without going fully aromatic. In the first five minutes, this reads as a polished fresh fragrance with designer sensibilities, one that feels familiar without being forgettable. The sugar in the citrus accord is present but restrained, functioning more as a rounding element than a sweetener, keeping the opening from veering into gourmand territory. As the citrus brightens and the coriander leaf fades into the background, the composition begins to reveal its woody intentions, the two layers coexisting briefly before the heart takes over. That fading coriander leaves behind a quiet herbal warmth that acts as a bridge, softening the transition from citrus clarity to woody structure. Then the transition happens. Cedar and cypress begin to assert themselves around the ten-minute mark, pulling the scent away from the citrus brightness and into something drier and more structural. Cypress in particular dominates the heart, lending a powdery, almost medicinal coolness that can read as elegant and restrained or, depending on skin, flat and recessive. The vetiver underneath adds a faint smokiness and earthiness that prevents the woods from feeling hollow. The interplay between cypress and vetiver is where the fragrance earns its complexity, one dry and architectural, the other rooted and slightly raw, each keeping the other in check. Cedar bridges these two directions, lending a clean, dry warmth that anchors the heart without tipping it toward heaviness. The cedar also works to smooth the sharper edges of the cypress, allowing both notes to settle into a coherent and unified woody accord before the base fully emerges. About thirty minutes in, the fragrance settles into a quietly warm, resinous phase led by benzoin. This base note is where Wood Essence earns its character. Benzoin is a sweet resin, slightly vanilla-adjacent but never sugary, and it cushions the dry cedar and cypress into something intimate and skin-close. The dry-down becomes almost musky, a clean warmth that sits close to the skin rather than radiating outward. This inward quality is not a weakness. It makes the fragrance feel personal, like something worn for yourself rather than for a room. An unexpected rose-like softness can emerge in the later stages, which the notes do not explicitly explain but which the benzoin and cedar can sometimes produce together on certain skin types. It is subtle enough that not everyone catches it, but it adds a dimension of softness to what is otherwise a predominantly woody-resinous composition. Whether you read it as a woody citrus that deepens or a resinous wood that opens bright, the evolution is coherent and unhurried.

When to Wear

Wood Essence is best suited to cooler months, particularly autumn and early winter, when the resinous benzoin base has room to develop without being dulled by heat. It is an office and daytime fragrance first, quiet enough to wear in shared spaces, polished enough to carry through an evening dinner. Browse the Work and Routine collection for more scents with this kind of composed, understated character.

Who Is It For

Someone who prefers their woody fragrances clean and understated rather than heavy or smoky will find this a natural fit, as will a professional who wants structure without dominance, and who appreciates a resinous warmth that develops quietly through the day rather than announcing itself on entry.

If you enjoy Wood Neroli, the 2019 flanker from the same Bvlgari Man Wood line, it is worth comparing the two side by side. Browse the full Bvlgari collection at Aromatica.

Available as an authentic decant in Bangladesh at Aromatica in 3ml, 5ml, 9ml, and 15ml.
