Description - Ultra Male
Sharp herbs, warm woods, polished base. JPG Ultra Male EDT from ৳580, authentic decants in Bangladesh. Notes of clary sage, lavender and ced

When Jean Paul Gaultier launched Ultra Male Eau de Toilette Intense in 2015, the goal was clear: take everything that made Le Male iconic and push it harder. This is not a subtle fragrance. It is confident, sweet-spiced, and unapologetically bold, built on the same lavender-vanilla skeleton as its parent but with the intensity dialed up and a darker, fruitier edge layered on top. Aromatica carries the Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes, so you can experience the full evolution on your skin.

Fragrance Notes

Top: Pear, Black Lavender, Mint, Bergamot, Lemon

Heart: Cinnamon, Caraway, Clary Sage

Base: Black Vanilla, Amber, Patchouli, Cedar

The Scent

Ripe, almost syrupy pear hits first, the kind that reads more like pear candy than fresh fruit. Black lavender cuts through it quickly, adding a dark, slightly medicinal herbal quality that keeps the sweetness from going too soft. Mint adds a cool, clean edge in those first moments, and a touch of bergamot and lemon provides enough citrus lift to stop the whole thing feeling heavy right out of the gate. The bergamot in particular gives the pear a faintly luminous quality in the first few minutes, before the darker elements begin to assert themselves. It is a busy, attention-grabbing opening, and it works.

As the top notes settle, the heart arrives with cinnamon and caraway doing most of the work. The caraway divides opinion sharply. It can read as a warm, slightly anise-like spice depth that bridges the pear and vanilla beautifully, or it can come across as medicinal or even reminiscent of rye bread in a way that takes some adjustment. Clary sage adds an aromatic, slightly musky thread through the middle that smooths these spices into something coherent. By the end of the first thirty minutes, the pear and spice have merged into a rich, gourmand-adjacent accord that sits close to skin.

What makes this transition interesting is how the sweetness shifts character rather than intensifying in a straight line. In the opening it reads as fresh and fruity; in the heart it becomes warm and spiced, almost edible. The clary sage prevents it from tipping into pure dessert territory, lending a faintly green, aromatic backbone that gives the composition some structure amid the richness. There is a brief window, roughly twenty to forty minutes in, where pear and cinnamon overlap in a way that is genuinely unusual and worth paying attention to on skin. The mint, which anchored the opening, lingers long enough here to keep the spice from reading as heavy, then fades cleanly as the base takes hold.

The dry-down is where black vanilla and amber take over completely. The vanilla here is darker and more resinous than a simple sweet vanilla. It has depth and some smokiness from the patchouli, which adds a quiet earthiness without going heavy. Cedar provides a thin woody structure underneath that keeps the whole composition from reading as purely gourmand. The amber deepens everything, pulling the warmth inward and giving the fragrance that intimate, skin-close quality that makes it feel like it belongs on a person rather than floating around a room. What you are left with is a warm, sweet, slightly dark skin scent that is deeply intimate rather than loud. Cooler weather evenings tend to be the moment this fragrance earns its place, and the dry-down is exactly why that reputation holds.

When to Wear

Ultra Male is a cold-weather fragrance first and foremost. Autumn evenings and winter nights are where the sweet-spiced warmth makes the most sense, particularly in close-quarter social settings. Reach for it on date nights or late dinners where something bold and intimate is the right call.

Who Is It For

Confidence with sweetness is the common thread among those who reach for this. Someone who grew up on Le Male and wants a richer, more intense version, or who gravitates toward dark gourmand and amber-spice fragrances and does not mind turning a few heads.

If you want to compare it against the original DNA, Le Male is the cleaner, lighter starting point and sits right alongside it in the Jean Paul Gaultier line. Browse the full Jean Paul Gaultier collection at Aromatica.
