Common Questions
Good to know
-
Turathi Blue follows the same grapefruit-led citrus opening and clean amber-woody dry-down that made Le Gemme Tygar a popular niche reference, delivering a close read of that profile at a fraction of the price. The structure, bright citrus into amber and patchouli, maps closely enough that fans of one will likely recognise the other.
-
Closer to Tygar. Turathi Blue's grapefruit-and-mandarin opening and its amber-woody, musk-patchouli base sit nearer the Bvlgari citrus-ambroxan style than Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum, which leans more incense-and-cedar in its own drydown and reads noticeably drier once the citrus opening has faded.
-
The bergamot, mandarin and grapefruit opening reads bright and clean rather than synthetic, and the amber-woody heart over a musk-patchouli base gives it real depth for the price point. It will not fool a trained nose into thinking it is the four-figure original, but it captures the same fresh citrus-woody mood convincingly.
-
If you are curious about the pricier niche reference it is built to resemble, a 3ml or 5ml decant lets you judge the grapefruit-amber balance for a fraction of the cost before deciding whether to buy more of this or the original it is inspired by.
-
Bergamot, mandarin and grapefruit are the most volatile notes here and fade faster in high heat than in cool air, so the amber-and-woody heart arrives sooner. The musk-patchouli base, already the more stable part of the composition, ends up carrying more of the wear on a hot day than it would in winter.
-
Turathi Blue opens sharp and bitter, grapefruit against bergamot and mandarin, before amber and woody notes settle into a polished, masculine dry-down. This citrus-woody original stays drier, with patchouli and musk underneath the amber, while Afnan Turathi Electric adds pear, orange blossom and vanilla on top of that same base, turning the result sweeter, softer and more gourmand.
