Common Questions
Good to know
-
Different fragrances that share a name. Salvo Intense is a spicy aromatic: bergamot into lavender, Sichuan pepper, star anise and nutmeg over ambroxan and vanilla, which is the Sauvage-adjacent lane it is aimed at. Salvo Elixir drops the lavender entirely and rebuilds on black pepper, tobacco and pineapple with patchouli, iris and coffee through the heart. Intense is the fresh-spicy one; the Elixir is the dark one.
-
The spice sharpens and the base sweetens. Sichuan pepper, star anise and nutmeg all intensify on warm skin, so the middle of this is more aggressive here than in cool air, and the bergamot that softens the entry is gone within minutes. Ambroxan gains warmth through the day and the vanilla behind it rounds out sooner than intended, making this a sharper fragrance in June than in December.
-
On some skin, yes. Ambroxan clings to skin and amplifies warmth, creating a hazy, radiant quality that can read synthetic on certain skin chemistry and genuinely skin-like on others. That split reaction is common with ambroxan-heavy formulas and is worth knowing before committing to a larger size.
-
The resemblance to Dior Sauvage is real, particularly in the spice-meets-ambroxan structure, but whether the ambroxan reads synthetic or skin-like depends entirely on individual chemistry. A decant lets you confirm the match on your own skin before deciding if this budget-friendly alternative earns a permanent spot.
-
Frequently compared to Dior Sauvage Eau de Parfum; Salvo Intense tracks the same spiced-woody direction but opens cleaner on bergamot rather than cinnamon and cardamom, and settles into a lighter ambroxan-vanilla base instead of the denser licorice, patchouli and vetiver resin in the original.
