Common Questions
Good to know
-
No, and that is the point of it. The agarwood is run through a French filter, framing it with saffron, Bulgarian rose and a little leather rather than the raw, barnyard oud of a traditional attar. The result is smooth, rosy and refined, an oud for someone who finds most real ouds too sharp or too animalic.
-
It sits right between the two. The rose and saffron give it a warm floral heart, while the oud, cedar and frankincense keep the base dry and resinous, so neither side fully wins. That balance is what makes it wearable in a way a pure oud or a pure rose often is not.
-
Santal Royal leans on sandalwood alongside its oud and rose, giving it a creamier base, while Oud Essentiel keeps the frame tighter around saffron, rose and leather over a drier cedarwood-frankincense finish. Oud Essentiel is the more austere, rose-forward of the two.
-
Rose tends to turn heavier and slightly jammier in heat, while saffron's dry, leathery edge softens faster than in a cooler climate. The oud-cedarwood-frankincense base still builds normally, so on hot days expect a warmer, rosier heart with a shorter saffron-leather bite than in cooler weather.
