The Scent

This is a genuine mandarin, with the waxy sweetness of the peel and a faint bitterness right underneath it. It smells like you have broken the skin of a ripe mandarin with your thumbnail and the oils are hanging in the air around your wrist. That citrus impression is intensely natural and oddly photorealistic, closer to the fruit itself than to any conventional citrus accord. For the first ten to fifteen minutes, that citrus clarity holds steady.
