About our decants

At Aromatica, we hand-decant authentic perfumes from original full-size bottles into smaller atomizers. This lets you experience the full dry-down on your skin before committing to a full bottle, or own and wear several signature scents at a fraction of the cost.

3ml, 5ml, 9ml, and 15ml decant sizes

Please note: bottle visuals shown above may vary slightly from the current bottles in use; the volumes remain the same. Decants are produced manually in a sterilized environment and shipped with a spray atomizer.

Description

About this fragrance

Givenchy built L'Interdit as an act of rebellion, a name born from a scandal that never actually happened, and every flanker since has pushed that tension further. L'Interdit Absolu, released in 2024 as an Eau de Parfum Intense and composed by Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal, takes the original tuberose backbone and sets it against tobacco, rum, and vetiver instead of soft musks. Aromatica carries the Givenchy L'Interdit Absolu decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes, so the shift from the standard L'Interdit to this darker cut is easy to compare side by side. It reads less like a reissue and more like the same character in a different mood, older, more sure of herself, unwilling to soften for anyone.

Notes, the scent, when to wear, and who it is for.

Common Questions

Good to know

  • Its base. Absolu (2024) is the boozy, warmest L'Interdit, pairing the signature tuberose-jasmine heart with a rum, tobacco and patchouli base, plus a cardamom-lavender top. That rum-and-tobacco drydown sets it apart from L'Interdit Rouge, which instead adds a spicy pimento leaf over patchouli and vetiver.
  • It depends on the listing. Givenchy markets it as unisex, while some databases file it under women's. The rum, tobacco and cardamom give it enough warmth and spice to wear either way, so treat the gender label as a guide rather than a rule.
  • The original L'Interdit keeps its tuberose-and-orange-blossom heart on a softer musk base, while Absolu pushes the same white-floral core against tobacco, rum and vetiver instead. Absolu reads older and more assured, trading the original's softness for a boozier, more grounded finish.

The Scent

Cardamom hits first, dry and slightly peppery, with lavender running underneath it like a cool current. Neroli lifts the opening enough to keep it from feeling heavy this early. Within minutes tuberose starts to push through, and it does not arrive quietly. This is a fleshy, buttery tuberose, thicker than the floral tea version found in the original L'Interdit, and jasmine sambac joins it to add a slightly indolic, skin-warmed edge. Orange blossom rounds the heart out, keeping the florals from turning waxy. What is unusual here is how fast the base starts creeping in. Tobacco and rum surface while the tuberose is still at full volume, so for a stretch the fragrance smells like a boozy floral rather than a clean transition from flowers to wood. Some noses catch mostly the rum's sweetness at this stage, others get more of the dry tobacco leaf, and both readings are accurate depending on skin chemistry. As the cardamom and lavender fade further back, the tuberose and jasmine sambac seem to swell rather than shrink, holding the center of the composition for a long middle stretch before the base fully takes over. The rum note in particular keeps shifting in character, at times leaning toward dark sugar and at other times reading closer to raw spirit, which keeps the tobacco from settling into one fixed shape. Orange blossom lingers longest among the heart notes, thinning out slowly rather than dropping away, so the transition into tobacco and vetiver never feels abrupt.

Patchouli deepens things further into the dry-down, earthy rather than sweet, and Haitian vetiver closes it out with a smoky, root-like dryness that pulls the whole composition back down to earth. By this point the tuberose has thinned to a faint waxy trace beneath the patchouli, more felt than smelled outright. The finish is dark, a little smoky, and noticeably drier than where it started.

When to Wear

This suits late autumn and winter evenings, particularly dinners, cocktail bars, or any setting with low light and some formality attached. It is built for after-dark occasions rather than daytime errands, and pairs naturally with the pieces in Aromatica's Dates | Nights collection.

Who Is It For

Someone who already owns a tuberose fragrance and wants one with more grit is the target here. It fits a wearer drawn to boozy, tobacco-laced florals rather than anything soft or polite.

If you enjoy the original L'Interdit, this Absolu version sits in the same family but pushes into darker, smokier territory, and L'Interdit Rouge is another useful comparison for its spiced warmth. Aromatica lines up the rest of the L'Interdit family if you want to see every version side by side. Browse the full Givenchy collection at Aromatica.
