Description - La Belle Paradise Garden
Warm sweetness with depth. JPG La Belle Paradise Garden EDP decant from ৳691 in Bangladesh, sizes 3ml to 15ml. Notes of vanilla and iris.

Jean Paul Gaultier built La Belle around one idea: a woman's body as a garden, and this 2024 Eau de Parfum is the wildest patch of it. Where the original La Belle stayed cool and pear-scented, Paradise Garden turns tropical and a little untamed, built around blue lotus instead of orchard fruit. Aromatica carries the La Belle Paradise Garden decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes, so you can meet this side of the house without buying the whole bottle sight unseen. It is a floral built on one flower, and that flower is unusual enough to carry the whole composition.

Fragrance Notes

Top: Blue Lotus

Heart: Iris

Base: Vanilla

The Scent

Blue lotus announces itself first, and it does not smell like a typical floral opening. It is watery and a little green, closer to the smell of a flower pulled straight from a pond than anything from a bouquet. There is a mineral coolness to it, almost aquatic, and that surprises people who expect La Belle's usual fruit-forward sweetness. Give it ten minutes and the lotus starts to soften, losing its sharper green edge and turning toward something powdery. That is iris arriving underneath, and it changes the entire mood of the fragrance. Iris brings a suede-like, cosmetic quality, the kind of note that reads as expensive and slightly retro, and it wraps around what is left of the lotus so the two blur into one long floral breath. By the second hour, vanilla starts pushing up from the base, and this is where the fragrance splits opinion. On some skin the vanilla stays restrained, warming the iris without sweetening it much. On other skin it turns creamier and more dessert-like, closer to vanilla custard than a clean musk. Both readings are legitimate outcomes of the same base note working differently against individual skin chemistry. The dry-down settles into a soft, powdery vanilla-iris blend with only a whisper of that opening lotus left, more texture than scent at that point. The transition from aquatic to powdery to creamy is the whole story here, and it happens gradually enough that you notice each shift rather than being ambushed by it. Nothing about the progression feels abrupt, since blue lotus and iris share that same slightly powdery undertone even in the opening minutes, which is why the shift from cool to soft reads as continuous rather than jarring. By the third hour the vanilla has taken the lead entirely, and what started as a pond-water floral ends closer to a warm iris powder with a faint sugared edge.

When to Wear

This suits warm evenings on a covered terrace or a garden dinner where the air is humid enough for a watery floral to make sense. It also works for spring afternoons spent somewhere with actual greenery, a botanical garden visit or a brunch on a plant-filled balcony, where the lotus opening feels like it belongs to the setting rather than fighting it.

Who Is It For

Someone drawn to unconventional florals will recognize this immediately, the kind of wearer who skips rose and jasmine in favor of something stranger like lotus or iris. It also fits anyone who likes a scent with a visible mood shift rather than one flat note held from start to finish.

If you enjoy the original La Belle, this sits in the same family with a wetter, greener opening in place of the pear. Browse the full Jean Paul Gaultier collection at Aromatica.
