What is the difference between Hacivat and Hacivat X?
They share the same pineapple and bergamot signature, but X is the woodier, sharper interpretation. The original is smoother and a touch sweeter, while X pulls back the fruit and pushes cedar and vetiver forward, so it comes across drier and more masculine. Owners of the first tend to find X a genuine variation rather than a repeat.
Is Hacivat X similar to Creed Aventus?
They live in the same fruity, smoky, woody family and both open on bright fruit over a dry base, so fans of one often like the other. Aventus leans smoky and birch driven with a chypre feel, whereas Hacivat X is greener and more vetiver led. Close cousins rather than twins.
Does the pineapple last, or does it fade to just wood?
The pineapple stays present but recedes. It is loudest in the first hour, then settles into a supporting role while Haitian vetiver, cedarwood and patchouli become the main event. By the drydown you are wearing a dry woody scent with a fruity glow rather than a fruit bomb.

Notes, the scent, when to wear, and who it is for.

Take the pineapple and smoke idea that made a name for the house and push it drier, and you arrive at Nishane Hacivat X, a 2023 extrait de parfum from its X collection. Julien Rasquinet keeps the juicy bergamot and pineapple opening but sands off the sweetness, letting vetiver and cedar run the show. It is fruity on top and unmistakably woody underneath.

Fragrance Notes

Top: Pineapple, Bergamot, Pink Pepper

Heart: Orange Blossom, Lime, Jasmine

Base: Haitian Vetiver, Cedarwood, Patchouli

Full note breakdown on Parfumo.

The Scent

The opening is instantly recognisable, a bright hit of pineapple and bergamot with a peppery pink pepper crackle. It is fresh and fruity, but where a sweeter scent would lean into candy, this one stays crisp and slightly tart. There is a clean, almost fizzy quality to the first few minutes that reads as premium rather than playful.

The heart brings a light floral lift, orange blossom and jasmine over a squeeze of lime, but it is a brief interlude before the woods take over. Haitian vetiver, cedarwood and patchouli push the fragrance into dry, green, woody territory, and this is where Hacivat X separates itself from its relatives. The pineapple never fully leaves, but it ends up sitting on a sharp, mineralic wood base that feels considerably more serious than the top would suggest.

Performance divides opinion among people who have worn it. On some skin the vetiver and patchouli base stays close for a good stretch of the day, while on other skin it fades to a faint warmth sooner than expected. Set next to Creed Aventus, the reference point most people reach for, Hacivat X reads greener and more vetiver led rather than smoky and birch driven. Set next to the original Hacivat, it comes across sharper and drier, with a more mineral vetiver finish.

When to Wear

Hacivat X is a bright, versatile daytime scent that suits spring and summer especially well. The fruity freshness makes it easy for casual wear and relaxed enough for the office, while the woody backbone keeps it from feeling too light for a longer day. It carries comfortably from midday into evening on the strength of its dry woody base. Deep winter is the one stretch where it struggles, since the fruity top wants warmth to open properly, so this suits the warmer three quarters of the year best.

Who Is It For

For people who love the fruity, smoky pineapple genre but want the drier, woodier version rather than the sweet one. If you enjoy niche fresh fragrances and appreciate a fruit note grounded by real vetiver and cedar, this is your lane. It also suits an existing Hacivat owner curious about a drier variation, or an Aventus admirer wanting a similar shape without the same price or crowd. Because the drydown runs oily on some skin, a decant is the sensible way to test it first.

The obvious starting point is the original Hacivat, and if you enjoy the fruity, smoky style then Creed Aventus is the reference point everyone compares it to. For a purely vetiver-forward wood to set beside it, Lalique Encre Noire a l'Extreme is worth a look. Browse the full Nishane range, or our woody collection for more in this family.

Hacivat X is available as a decant in 3ml, 5ml, 9ml and 15ml sizes.
