The Scent

The opening is pepper, cardamom and ginger, cool and spicy rather than warm. One reviewer says it reads more like peppermint gum than sensual spice at first. It is a brisk, clean start that sets up the flowers without sweetness.

The heart is gardenia, orange blossom and peony. Gardenia gives a creamy white floral body, orange blossom adds brightness, and peony keeps it soft and fresh. This is the core of Crystal Noir, and it reads feminine, polished and a little mysterious. Compared with the EDP, it is lighter and less creamy, since the EDP adds coconut to this stage.
