Launched in 2017 and created by perfumers Anne Flipo and Bruno Jovanovic, Coach For Men is the American leather house's entry into masculine fragrance, an Eau de Toilette that leans fresh and woody without trying to shout. The Scent

There is a softness to the citrus phase here that sets it apart from sharper aquatic masculines; the fruit is ripe rather than tart, and the lavender prevents the whole opening from smelling generic. Within the first fifteen minutes the fruit begins to recede and cardamom starts asserting itself, bringing a dry spice that grounds the composition without overwhelming it. Coriander joins in, and this is where the fragrance shows a little personality. Coriander can read either green and herbal or subtly soapy depending on skin chemistry, and both readings work here, giving Coach For Men a slight unpredictability that keeps it from being entirely linear. Geranium acts as a quiet bridge, softening the handoff between the spiced middle and the base without announcing itself loudly. It is the kind of note you notice only when you stop to think about what changed. Suede and amberwood settle in together as the dry-down begins, building a texture that is warm and smooth rather than dark or heavy. This is where the leather house DNA becomes legible, though the suede here is far from aggressive. It is the texture of a worn jacket rather than a new one, lived-in and close to the skin. Haitian vetiver keeps the base from going too soft; there is a slight earthiness and a thread of smoke running through the later stages that prevents the whole thing from dissolving into generic department-store clean. The ambergris ties everything together, adding a quiet animalic warmth that makes the scent feel anchored to skin rather than floating above it. Taken as a whole, the arc from bright citrus-herbal to dry, suede-and-vetiver close is smooth and well-paced. The spices do the work of bridging both phases, and nothing feels abrupt. If the opening is the easy part, the base is the part that makes you reach for the bottle again.
