Common Questions
Good to know
-
Yes. Bergamot, pink pepper, red chilli pepper and lavender open it with a spicy kick, a heart of tobacco, oud, cedarwood and cherry gives it a dark, slightly fruity core, and a base of leather, patchouli and vetiver grounds it. The result is a warm, spicy tobacco-and-oud scent rather than a sweet one, and a 2023 extrait release.
-
It is the driest and most primal entry, keeping the tobacco leaf green and unsweetened rather than reaching for vanilla or dried fruit, and grounding it in leather, patchouli and vetiver. Reach for this one specifically when you want tobacco that reads like the raw plant itself rather than a dessert accord.
-
Yes. Tobacco Vanille is warm, spiced and heavily sweetened with vanilla and dried fruit, while Brazilian Tobacco keeps the tobacco green and raw and grounds it in leather, patchouli and vetiver instead. If you love the tobacco idea of Tobacco Vanille but find it too gourmand, this trades the sweetness for earthy depth. See Tobacco Vanille.
-
Both build on an oud-leather-tobacco frame from Ibraheem Al Qurashi, but Brazilian Tobacco opens with bergamot, pink pepper and chilli for a spicier start and lets a surprising cherry facet surface in the heart, while Blue Oud opens instead on oud and blue lilies for a cooler, more aquatic cast. See Blue Oud.
-
Not really. It shows up as a faint, sweet-sour, resinous quality rather than an obvious fruit note, giving the tobacco accord unexpected depth and a slightly fermented edge. On some skin it briefly softens the composition, on others it recedes almost entirely beneath the tobacco and cedarwood, adding complexity rather than sweetness.
-
The raw, leaf-forward tobacco and dry leather-vetiver base are built for cooler, drier air, so in Dhaka's humidity the earthy patchouli and vetiver base may feel denser sooner than in autumn or winter conditions. It still avoids the syrupy quality sweeter tobaccos develop in heat, since there is no vanilla or fruit here to thicken.
-
Brazilian Tobacco skips the usual vanilla and dried fruit, leaning green and primal with dry bergamot, pink pepper, and a prickle of red chilli over restrained lavender. It is frequently compared to Parfums de Marly Haltane, though the two land in different places. Brazilian Tobacco stays fresher and lighter with a cleaner, red chilli brightness, while Haltane turns spicier and smokier, weighted down with leather and oud.
