Common Questions
Good to know
-
It is far lighter and more wearable. Where the 1992 Angel is a dense chocolate-patchouli-caramel gourmand, Quentin Bisch built Nova on raspberry, lychee and a fresh damask rose instead, keeping a hint of the Angel base but dropping most of the original's heaviness and richness.
-
Akigalawood, a modern woody-peppery material, sits under the fruity rose instead of Angel's signature patchouli-caramel. It gives Nova a smooth, radiant woody finish that is a clear break from the original's dark gourmand base, and it is a large part of why Nova reads modern rather than vintage on the skin.
-
Both showcase Mugler's reputation for strong, dependable performance, but Angel Nova is a bright, fruity-rose composition while Alien Goddess Intense takes a warmer, more vanilla-forward route. If Nova's fruitiness feels too playful for a given occasion, Alien Goddess Intense offers the same house's reliability with more gravity.
-
The original Angel's dense chocolate-patchouli darkness is essentially absent here, replaced by raspberry, litchi and a jammy damask rose over a dry, peppery akigalawood base. If depth and darkness are what you associate with the Angel name, Nova is a genuinely different composition wearing the same signature, not a lighter version of the same weight.
-
Angel Nova's Mugler-strength performance means a little goes a long way, and the wide spray mechanism can overdeliver if you're not used to it. A 3ml decant lets you calibrate the right number of sprays for the raspberry-rose-akigalawood balance you want before spending on a bottle you might otherwise overapply.
-
Angel Nova opens with litchi and raspberry over a jammy damask rose, then settles into a base built on peppery akigalawood and balsamic benzoin rather than a classic gourmand accord. That dry, woody peppery base is what sets the composition apart from softer, more traditional fruity rose fragrances, giving it a modern, radiant finish instead of a sweet one.
