Description - Acqua Di Gio Parfum Magnetic Cap
Polished woods with a herbal lift. Armani Acqua Di Gio Parfum Magnetic Cap decant from ৳672, shipped across Bangladesh. Notes of clary sage
Alberto Morillas built his reputation on marine accords, and the 2023 Acqua Di Gio Parfum is where he returned to refine his own signature decades later. This Magnetic Cap edition houses the same concentrated juice inside a sculpted bottle with a cap that snaps into place, a small ritual that suits a fragrance built around precision. Aromatica carries the Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Parfum decant in Bangladesh across all available sizes, so the format is easy to try without hunting down the full bottle first.
Fragrance Notes
Top: Marine notes, Bergamot
Heart: Rosemary, Clary Sage, Geranium
Base: Olibanum, Patchouli
The Scent
The first thing the nose registers is salt air, that unmistakable marine accord Morillas has leaned on since the original 1996 Acqua Di Gio, except here it feels denser and less transparent. Bergamot cuts through almost immediately, bright and slightly bitter, keeping the opening from turning into pure ozone. Within minutes rosemary pushes forward with its herbal sharpness, and this is where the parfum starts distinguishing itself from the eau de toilette versions that came before it. Clary sage adds a faintly boozy, hay-like undertone that softens the rosemary's edge. Geranium arrives next, rosy and green at once, bridging the aromatic heart into what comes later. As the fragrance settles into the second hour, olibanum starts to surface, and this is the surprise most people do not expect from an aquatic: a resinous, faintly smoky warmth that has nothing to do with the sea. Patchouli joins it in the base, earthy and a touch dry, grounding everything that opened so bright and cold. The dry-down reads as skin-close and slightly ambery, marine on the surface but woody-resinous underneath, and that split between the cold opening and the warm finish is the whole point of this composition. Worn a little longer, the marine notes never fully vanish, they recede behind the rosemary and clary sage, so the herbal heart always carries a trace of salt underneath it. The transition between bergamot and geranium is smooth rather than abrupt, with the citrus fading in step as the floral-green facet of geranium takes over the same space. Olibanum and patchouli do not arrive as a sudden shift either, they build slowly under the aromatic notes until the balance finally tips from cold to warm. Clary sage's hay-like quality lingers longest among the heart notes, giving the base a faint sweetness before patchouli's dryness fully takes hold. By the final stage, bergamot and marine notes are little more than a memory, and what remains is the rosemary-tinged warmth of olibanum settling into patchouli on the skin.
When to Wear
This belongs to spring and summer evenings, the kind spent at a rooftop dinner or walking along the water after sunset when the air has cooled but the day's heat still lingers. It also works for a beach vacation dinner where you want something more composed than a straightforward cologne. If aquatic-woody blends are your lane, Aromatica's Aquatic | Ozonic collection has more in the same register.
Who Is It For
Someone who already owns a classic aquatic but wants more depth from it, the kind of wearer who likes clean fragrances as long as they resolve into something warmer than soap.
If you enjoy the original Acqua Di Gio Parfum, this shares its bottle DNA, and Acqua Di Gio Profondo sits nearby for a darker, more mineral take on the same marine idea. Browse the full Giorgio Armani collection at Aromatica.
