Description - Scandal Eau de Parfum
Refined florals, dialled to wearable. JPG Scandal Eau de Parfum decant from ৳534, shipped across Bangladesh. Notes of gardenia, jasmine and

Few designer launches in 2017 caused as much conversation as Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Eau de Parfum. Created by perfumers Daphne Bugey, Fabrice Pellegrin, and Christophe Raynaud, this women's Chypre Floral sits squarely in JPG's tradition of provocative, unapologetically bold femininity. It is named after the red-light district of Pigalle and wears that inspiration without apology. Aromatica carries the Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Eau de Parfum decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes.

Fragrance Notes

Top: Blood Orange, Mandarin Orange

Heart: Honey, Gardenia, Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Peach

Base: Beeswax, Caramel, Patchouli, Licorice

The Scent

Blood orange and mandarin arrive first as a bright, slightly tart burst that feels more like a squeeze of fresh citrus than a constructed top note. Energetic and clean for the first few minutes, the opening gives you a moment of freshness before the composition shifts into warmer terrain. Honey moves in quickly and decisively, warm and slightly waxy, pulling the citrus down into richer territory. This is not a shy honey. It reads as golden and thick, the kind that coats rather than whispers. Alongside it, gardenia and orange blossom open up, soft and creamy, adding a white floral density that prevents the honey from going purely gourmand. Jasmine works underneath with a slightly indolic, almost skin-warm quality that gives the heart a lived-in sensuality. Peach then adds a ripe, jammy sweetness to the floral-honey accord, pushing things into genuinely luscious territory.

The transition from heart to base is gradual and deliberate. As the white florals soften and the peach recedes, the beeswax rises to meet the remaining honey, thickening the composition into something that feels textile, almost honeycomb-like. The gardenia quietly sustains a creamy softness underneath, anchoring the florals so they stay grounded rather than sheer. Together with the orange blossom, it creates a white floral bed that the honey rests on rather than overwhelms. This middle passage, where honey, beeswax, and gardenia converge, is where Scandal is at its most distinctive and most coherent.

The dry-down is where the fragrance earns its character. Beeswax thickens the composition noticeably, bringing a honeycomb-like texture. Patchouli grounds all of it with an earthy, dark counterweight that keeps Scandal from reading as a simple sweet floral. Caramel deepens the base into warm amber-gourmand territory, while licorice adds a slightly anisic, herbal quality that can read as sophisticated and unusual or, depending on skin chemistry, as something almost medicinal. The anise note can sit sharp against the honey on some wearers, while on others it folds quietly into the beeswax and reads as elegantly unexpected. The result in the base is less a conventional sweet oriental and more a wax-and-earth composition that happens to radiate warmth. The final skin scent is warm, amber-sweet, and darker than the bright citrus opening would ever suggest. The whole arc runs from brightness through richness to something genuinely opulent.

When to Wear

Scandal is built for autumn and winter evenings when the warmth of honey and patchouli can fully open on the skin. It suits date nights, dinners out, and events where you want presence rather than subtlety. Browse the Dates and Nights collection for more fragrances in this register.

Who Is It For

The woman who gravitates toward rich, honey-forward orientals and wants a floral that has real weight and personality behind it, rather than prettiness alone, will find Scandal a natural fit.

If you enjoy the Scandal line, Scandal Le Parfum is the 2022 intensified version and makes a direct comparison worth your time. Browse the full Jean Paul Gaultier collection at Aromatica.
