The Scent

Leather remains the quiet constant through this whole stretch, present in trace amounts even during the citrus opening for those who look for it, then growing more distinct as the tonka and almond fade back. By the time cedar and vetiver fully take hold, the bitter orange and rosemary from the opening have receded so far that the skin scent feels like a different fragrance from where it started, though the leather thread ties both halves together.
