Dior J’Adore L’Or

In 2023 Dior handed J'Adore L'Or to perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, who stripped it back to something far more concise than the rich 2010 version that once carried the same name. Marketed by Dior as L'Or de J'adore, a perfume essence, this release trades weight for radiance: three floral absolutes, no gourmand base, no amber, no vanilla. The Scent

This is a deliberately minimalist composition, three Grasse-style floral absolutes chosen to show off raw material rather than clever construction. Orange blossom opens it bright and faintly honeyed, more luminous than sweet, carrying the slightly green, waxy facet that real orange blossom absolute always has. It sets a tone that is radiant rather than heavy. As it warms, jasmine grandiflorum moves to the center, rich and full without turning indolic or overripe, and many wearers pick up a soft fruity nuance around it, a suggestion of almond and ripe orchard fruit that keeps the jasmine from reading austere. This is the core of the fragrance and it stays remarkably clear, the two white florals reading as one continuous, sunlit accord rather than a stacked pyramid.
