Description - Homme EDT Marine
Open-air freshness without the cliche. Kenzo Homme EDT Marine decant from ৳375 in Bangladesh, sizes 3ml to 15ml. Notes of musk and sandalwoo

Released in 2023, Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Marine carries on a philosophy the brand has held since the original Homme EDT landed in the 1990s: the smell of being somewhere near the ocean, without a care in the world. Composed by perfumer Quentin Bisch, this flanker takes that familiar spirit and pushes it toward open water. It is classified as an EDT, built from 95% ingredients of natural origin, and sits in the woody aquatic family. Aromatica carries the Kenzo Homme EDT Marine decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes.

Fragrance Notes

Top: Sea Notes

Heart: Ylang-Ylang

Base: Sandalwood, Musk

The Scent

A clean, cool blast of sea accord greets the nose first, reading more like salt air and ocean mist than synthetic aquatic chemicals. Quentin Bisch has kept this restraint intentional: the sea note here is bright and airy rather than cold and clinical, the kind of freshness you get standing at the bow of a boat rather than walking through a shower gel aisle. It avoids the icy metallic edge that plagues lesser marine compositions, landing instead on something that feels genuinely natural and breathable. Within the first few minutes, warmth starts telegraphing itself beneath the aquatic surface, which is its most interesting quality and what separates it from flat, one-note marine releases. That early warmth is quiet but persistent, nudging the composition toward something more layered even before the heart fully opens. As it settles into the heart, ylang-ylang steps in with a soft, almost tropical floral character, adding a creamy, slightly fruity dimension that most marine fragrances skip entirely. It can read as a welcome surprise that lifts it out of generic aquatic territory, or it can pull the composition in a floral direction that feels unexpected from a marine-positioned scent, depending on skin chemistry and expectation. The ylang-ylang never dominates, but it is present enough to register clearly on skin, and it gives the composition a slightly exotic texture that keeps it from reading as purely sporty or functional. The transition between the sea accord and the ylang-ylang is gradual rather than abrupt, with the floral note easing in as the salt air softens, so the two phases feel continuous rather than stitched together. On the dry-down, sandalwood takes over as the quiet backbone, lending a smooth, milky creaminess that rounds everything out and grounds the earlier brightness. The musk follows close behind, keeping the whole composition skin-close and soft rather than loud. The final dry-down is notably powdery and warm, a striking contrast to the fresh, salty opening that greeted the skin an hour earlier. The arc from sea breeze to creamy sandalwood musk is genuinely well-constructed, moving through distinct phases without feeling disjointed or rushed. It rewards wearing on skin rather than fabric, where the body heat helps the ylang-ylang and sandalwood develop their full character. The overall impression is of a marine fragrance that grew up: still fundamentally aquatic in character, but with the maturity and warmth of a well-chosen woody base underneath.

When to Wear

A spring and summer fragrance, it performs best in warm humid weather where the aquatic opening blooms naturally. Wear it to daytime outdoor events, beach outings, and weekend brunches where you want to smell clean and present without going heavy.

Who Is It For

Someone who gravitates toward fresh masculines but finds most aquatics too cold and synthetic will appreciate the warmth of a woody base under the ocean-freshness here. It also works well for the Kenzo Homme loyalist looking for a sunnier, more modern take on that family's DNA.

If you enjoy the Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette, the Marine is its brighter, saltier sibling and the natural next step to try. For something with a similar aquatic-woody character, Acqua Di Gio Profondo sits in the same territory and makes a useful comparison. Browse the full Kenzo collection at Aromatica.
