Common Questions
Good to know
-
More than volume, the materials themselves change. Alien Goddess opens on coconut water, which is thin and dewy rather than creamy, and finishes on bourbon vanilla and cashmeran. Intense uses full coconut instead, adds jasmine tea alongside the jasmine, and replaces the cashmeran with benzoin and cashmere wood. The original is solar and transparent; Intense is the same shape filled in and weighted down considerably.
-
It thickens, which is exactly the direction this fragrance did not need in a hot climate. Coconut and vanilla both read creamier on warm skin, and benzoin underneath is a resin that gains rather than lifts, so the richness that feels lush in a cold room becomes heavy by a hot afternoon. The bergamot is gone within minutes, and jasmine and jasmine tea expand in humidity too.
-
Almost certainly yes. The whole point of Intense is to push everything the original established further, replacing coconut water's dewy quality with full coconut and layering benzoin and cashmere wood underneath the vanilla. Anyone who already found Alien Goddess's coconut-jasmine-vanilla profile sufficiently sweet should expect this version to feel noticeably denser rather than simply stronger.
-
The original Alien Goddess makes the more sensible starting point, since its coconut water and heliotrope keep things transparent and solar rather than dense. Intense uses the same jasmine-and-vanilla skeleton but with full coconut, jasmine tea and a benzoin-cashmere wood base, so it is easier to appreciate once you already know you like the direction the original set. See Alien Goddess.
-
The differences run deeper than intensity: full coconut instead of coconut water, an added jasmine tea facet, and benzoin and cashmere wood replacing the original's cashmeran. Those are real formula changes, not just a bigger dose, so testing the 3ml to 15ml range on your own skin is the only way to know whether you actually prefer this denser version.
-
Alien Goddess Intense is frequently compared to the original Mugler Alien; it is described as folding Alien's jasmine-amber DNA into the Alien Goddess line, but here that jasmine is paired with coconut, jasmine tea and cashmere wood for a warmer, denser, more gourmand result rather than Alien's straight jasmine-amber signature.
