The Scent
Pear and melon open the composition with an almost juicy quality that surprises people expecting a straightforward white floral. Mandarin orange adds a thin citrus edge, and peach softens the whole thing, making the first few minutes feel ripe and warm rather than sharp. Magnolia sits underneath the fruits and bridges the gap between opening and heart without drawing much attention to itself. The fruits do not linger: within five to ten minutes they begin to pull back, and the florals step forward in their place. In the dry-down, the florals gradually give way to a warm, softly woody base of cedar, musk, and vanilla. The cedar is clean rather than sharp, lending the base a gentle structure. Vanilla keeps things golden and skin-close, and the blackberry in the base adds a faint dark-fruit undertone that rounds out the dry-down in an interesting way. The overall arc moves from bright fruit to abundant florals to a warm, intimate finish.
Opinion on reformulation is split: some who owned vintage bottles find that older formulas had a richer, denser quality compared to current production, which can read as slightly brighter and cleaner, while others find the difference negligible.
