Is this the original Wanted or the 2023 Eau de Parfum?
Ours is the 2023 Wanted Eau de Parfum, a stripped back woody aromatic built on just juniper, sage and vetiver. That makes it quite different from the fuller, spicier 2016 Azzaro Wanted, so it is not simply a stronger version of the original.
Is a three note fragrance too simple to be interesting?
It is deliberately minimal rather than thin. The juniper, sage and vetiver give a clean, green woody character with a clear point of view, which suits someone who wants an uncomplicated, wearable signature rather than a layered composition full of competing accords.
What separates Wanted EDP from its siblings Tonic and by Night?
Wanted EDP is the leanest of the three, just juniper, sage and vetiver with no citrus sweetness or spice. Wanted Tonic takes the line brighter with lime and ginger, while Wanted by Night pushes it darker with cinnamon and tobacco.
Does the juniper opening in Wanted EDP read cold or warm?
It reads cold and resinous at first, closer to crushed pine needles than a citrus spray, before settling into a herbal sage heart. The vetiver base then brings warmth back in gradually, so the fragrance moves from cool to grounded over the course of wear.

Notes, the scent, when to wear, and who it is for.

Woody aromatics can feel like a safe category, but Azzaro Wanted Eau de Parfum knows exactly what it wants to be. Launched in 2023 as a new addition to the iconic Wanted line, this concentration strips the series back to its bones: three ingredients, a clear point of view, no distractions. It is a masculine woody aromatic built around the tension between juniper's cold freshness and vetiver's warm earthiness, with sage holding the centre together. Aromatica carries the Azzaro Wanted EDP decant in Bangladesh in all available sizes.

Full note breakdown on Fragrantica.

The Scent

Juniper berries open with a cold, slightly resinous freshness that sits somewhere between crushed pine needles and a handful of ripe berries. It is not sweet and not aquatic. It is clean in the way that a mountain forest is clean. Within the first few minutes, the juniper starts to settle, and the composition reveals its direction: this is a fragrance moving toward depth, not brightness. The juniper's resinous edge softens gradually rather than cutting off sharply, leaving a faint berry-like coolness that bridges the gap into the heart. The heart brings in sage, and the shift is noticeable. Sage here is genuinely aromatic, herbal, and slightly camphoric, the kind of green-grey sharpness that feels both medicinal and sophisticated. It tempers the juniper without erasing it, and for a stretch in the middle of wear, the two notes create a tight, almost austere balance. The herbal quality of the sage moves between something closer to a kitchen garden and something closer to cold stone, depending on how the skin reads it. There is little sweetness in this phase, and none of the caramel or grape-soda register that some of the earlier Wanted flankers leaned into. That restraint can read as genuinely refreshing or as a departure that dials the character down too far, landing somewhere between clean austerity and anonymous dryness depending on skin chemistry and expectation. The dry-down is where vetiver takes over. It is earthy, smoky in a subtle way, rooty, and persistent. The vetiver here is not the clean, soapy interpretation sometimes found in designer fragrances.

It has genuine grit to it, a dark earthiness that grounds the whole composition and keeps it present long after the juniper has faded. As the sage recedes it leaves enough herbal memory to keep the vetiver from feeling purely earthy, giving the base a quiet complexity that rewards close wear. The transition from the herbal middle to the rooty base is unhurried, each stage folding into the next rather than snapping between them. What starts as a cold, almost bracing aromatic gradually becomes something warmer and more settled, anchored by the vetiver's dark, woody persistence. By the time the fragrance has fully settled, you are left with a quiet, tenacious woody base that wears close to the skin.

When to Wear

This reads best in cooler weather, from autumn through early spring, when the herbal and earthy notes feel at home rather than stark. It suits situations where you want to be noticed subtly, not loudly: a business meeting, an evening dinner where the venue is formal but not a special occasion, or a long afternoon outdoors in crisp air. Skip it on humid summer days when the vetiver can turn heavy.

Who Is It For

Anyone who has grown tired of sweet, fruity masculines and wants something drier, earthier, and more considered will find a natural home here. If you already reach for vetiver-forward fragrances or aromatic fougeres, Wanted EDP will feel immediately familiar and well-made.

If you enjoy the darker, richer side of the Wanted family, Wanted by Night takes a warmer, more tobacco-inflected route and is worth comparing directly. For more of the same idea, other fragrances in the Wanted family are collected in one spot.
