At Aromatica.one, one of our core promises is authenticity — every single decant we sell is drawn directly from genuine, sealed, branded bottles. Nothing added, nothing removed, nothing altered.
Yet, from time to time, we hear concerns like:
“This fragrance feels weak — did you mix it with water?”
When does a customer insinuate something like this? Because they are not getting a good longevity out of their decants. And so have we anything to do with poor longevity of a decant? NO! Do we mix water with decants? NO! Do we mix anything at all? NO!
Most recently, a customer felt this way about .a decant from a renowned brand And while we completely understand the frustration of wearing a scent that seems to vanish too quickly, as you are paying good sum for it, it’s important to shed light on why this happens — and why it has nothing to do with us.
We know it can be shocking when big brands reformulate and produce trashy fragrances, our job is to provide you the trashy fragrance as is, trashy, so that you can experience the trash yourself:)
1. Not All Fragrances Are Built the Same
Fragrance performance depends on factors like:
- Concentration: Eau de Cologne (EDC), Eau de Toilette (EDT), Eau de Parfum (EDP), or Parfum. CK Be is an EDT, designed to be fresh and subtle.
- Ingredients: Light, fresh notes (like citrus, florals, and aquatics) naturally fade faster than heavy notes (like oud, amber, or leather).
- Brand DNA: Some fashion houses, like Calvin Klein, are known for creating clean, minimalist scents that intentionally don’t project heavily.
2. Your Skin Chemistry Plays a Role
Fragrances react differently depending on:
- Skin type (oily skin holds scent longer than dry skin).
- Environment (hot, humid weather vs cool climate).
- Lifestyle (sweating, movement, exposure to air).
So the same fragrance might last 8 hours on one person, but only 2 hours on another.
3. Performance ≠ Authenticity
Weak projection or short longevity does not mean the fragrance is diluted or fake.
It simply means:
- The perfume was designed that way.
- Or it doesn’t suit your skin chemistry.
At Aromatica, we decant directly from the original bottle in front of you if you wish to see it. We don’t mix, we don’t refill with water, we don’t compromise.
4. What You Can Do
- Layer your fragrance with unscented lotion to increase longevity.
- Spray on clothes (careful with delicate fabrics).
- Reapply as needed — carrying a decant makes this easy.
Final Word
When you buy from us, you’re not just buying a decant — you’re buying the real fragrance exactly as the brand created it. If it’s strong, you’ll feel it. If it’s weak, that’s part of the perfume’s DNA.
